Sushi restaurant group Ze Sushi seeks stay of proceedings over 19 million shekel debt
The Ze Sushi restaurant group, operating in Tel Aviv since 2006, has filed an urgent request with the District Court for a temporary stay of proceedings and a debt settlement, after accumulating debts of about 19 million shekels. The request was filed by three companies in the group, including secured debt of 9.32 million shekels to a lender. The group claims a cash-flow difficulty rather than a business collapse, and stresses that core operations are profitable. The restaurants continue to operate as usual.
The Ze Sushi (ZE SUSHI) restaurant group, operating in Tel Aviv since 2006, has filed an urgent request with the Tel Aviv District Court for a temporary stay-of-proceedings order to formulate a debt settlement, under the rehabilitation and recovery track. This follows the group's accumulation of total debts of about 19 million shekels. The request was filed by three companies in the group: Ze Sushi, Europt Terminal, and the Ze Sushi Tel Aviv group. Of the total debt, 9.32 million shekels is secured debt to a lender, for which the residential apartment of the controlling owners, the couple Iv Gabriel Zarok and Inbar Zarok, was pledged. The group claims the crisis stemmed from a combination of circumstances: a partner who did not meet obligations, investments in a restaurant that did not succeed, the effects of the war on the restaurant industry, and the cumulative burden of financing costs. Despite the difficulties, the two restaurants continue to operate as usual. The group stresses that core operations are profitable, and that the purpose of the request is to obtain industrial quiet and business recovery while preserving the jobs of more than 50 employees. The group's revenues in 2025 totaled more than 35 million shekels, and a central part of the activity is carried out through deliveries on the Wolt platform.
