An indictment was filed yesterday (Wednesday) against David Don (49), a resident of Migdal HaEmek, for threats and illegal possession of a knife. According to the indictment, during the Sukkot holiday, Don became enraged by the loud music playing in his neighbors' sukkah. He left his home holding a large kitchen knife, approached the sukkah, and threatened to slaughter those present if they did not lower the music. Some of the neighbors were frightened and fled the scene. Police officers called to the scene arrested Don in his apartment. Initially, he denied the threats and claimed he was holding a nail file, but a search revealed the knife, which was seized as evidence. The police requested to extend his detention until the end of proceedings, citing his dangerousness given his past. The defense attorney from the Public Defender's Office stated that Don denies the accusations and that he is a normative citizen who fell victim to neighbors who made noise without consideration for his elderly parents.
