Mali and Liel Yahalomi, who disappeared two months ago and were found in South America, returned to Israel. At Ben-Gurion Airport they refused to speak to journalists. Mali and Liel Yahalomi, a mother and daughter who were missing for about two months and found in South America, returned to Israel. They landed at Ben-Gurion Airport on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, on a flight from Athens. In the arrivals hall, they were met by journalists and photographers, but the women refused to speak, emerged in matching clothing and sun hats, avoiding eye contact with cameras, and immediately headed to a car. The women's lawyer appealed to journalists not to pursue them, emphasizing: 'They are not enemies, they didn't steal anything, didn't kill anyone, and didn't do anything.' According to the publication, they returned to recover from their ordeal. Earlier that day, erroneous reports emerged of their arrest in Namibia on suspicion of using fake passports, but it later turned out that the arrested individuals were a mother and daughter from Iran. The investigation showed that Mali had been planning the disappearance for over a year: she withdrew money from her pension fund, and Liel voluntarily joined the plan. Both women deleted apps from their phones to hinder the search.
