The State Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment in the Be'er Sheva District Court against Shimon Azulai, 33, from Kiryat Gat, for stabbing his neighbor and wounding him in a life-threatening condition. According to the indictment, the incident began about a month ago when the victim's father offered a passerby to put on tefillin. Azulai, who had been drinking alcohol, arrived at the scene and a violent confrontation developed for an unknown reason. About an hour later, Azulai returned with another person, overturned the father's mobility scooter, and then stabbed the son in his arm and back with a sharp object. The victim fled while bleeding and shouted 'I didn't do anything!' and 'Help!', and the chase only ended when he entered a nearby vegetable store. He was taken to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon with life-threatening internal bleeding. The mobility scooter, worth over 22,000 shekels, was heavily damaged. The prosecution requested to detain Azulai until the end of proceedings, describing his actions as an 'unexplained outburst of violence'. He is charged with aggravated assault and intentional damage.
