Special poll: 3 years into the war, what do residents of the Gaza envelope and the north think about the government?

A special poll by ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth among 498 residents of the Gaza envelope and the northern border reveals that 75% say the war will greatly influence their vote. Only 31% are satisfied with the government's response to the massacre, but 43% are satisfied with the management of the war afterward. The cost of living and the security situation top the agenda.

A special poll by ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth among 498 Jewish residents of communities in the Gaza envelope and the northern border affected by the war reveals that three years of fighting will have a decisive impact on voting in the 2026 elections. About 75% of respondents estimate that the war will influence their vote to a great or very great extent, and nearly half (48%) believe it will influence them to a very great extent. The area receiving the harshest criticism is public diplomacy vis-à-vis international public opinion: 54% express low satisfaction. Regarding the government's response to the October 7 massacre, 48% express low satisfaction, compared to 31% high. However, the assessment of the management of the war after the massacre is more positive: 43% high satisfaction versus 36% low. The poll found significant gaps between coalition and opposition voters, and between men and women. The most decisive issues for residents are the cost of living (32%) and the security situation (31%), while a commission of inquiry into October 7 is important to 17%.
