Sources in Otzma Yehudit came out today (Tuesday) against Likud's new election campaign under the slogan "It's Right or Palestine," claiming that the ruling party is appropriating issues and moves led by the party of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir. "We worked so hard to ensure that a Palestinian state would not be established here, and to act to remove terror supporters from the Knesset – as Otzma Yehudit just did regarding Sami Abu Shahada – and now we see the party's successes starring in others' campaigns," the sources said. The comments come against the backdrop of Likud's campaign, which seeks to position the question of establishing a Palestinian state as one of the core issues of the election. Otzma Yehudit seeks to remind right-wing voters of the actions promoted by its people and the line Ben Gvir presented against establishing a Palestinian state and against the continued existence of the Palestinian Authority. Earlier, the party officially responded to the campaign with the message: "Strong Otzma Yehudit = Ben Gvir as Defense Minister = dismantling the Authority." The message aligns with the demand Ben Gvir made last week to receive the defense portfolio in the next government.
