Senior 'New York Times' executive murdered by his wife's parents: 'They shot him in turns'

Police arrested his wife's elderly parents, Xuoyong Zhang and Shili Chen, aged 77, suspected of first-degree murder. Witnesses reported seeing two masked individuals approach McKinsey, shoot him in turns, and then calmly walk away. McKinsey, a transgender man who underwent gender transition from female to male, was in the midst of a legal custody battle with his wife Candice Zhang over their three children. He was accused of cruelty toward children, pleaded not guilty, and was released on $50,000 bail. He, in turn, claimed his wife was violent toward him and the children, and accused her and her parents of making homophobic and transphobic remarks. The murder occurred a week before the divorce hearing.
