Yiska Haimov, sister of Shin Bet chief David Zini and a candidate for the "Noam LeYisrael" party, called in an interview with Radio Kol Barama to close the Jewish Department of the Shin Bet (General Security Service). The remarks were made in the context of a question about administrative orders and handling of legal violations by Jews in Judea and Samaria. Haimov said: "The Jewish Department in the Shin Bet should be closed, and it will be," adding that lawbreakers should be dealt with through the regular tools of the police and the judicial system. In the interview, Haimov addressed public criticism of her brother, the Shin Bet chief, and said she is not his spokesperson but knows his values. Additionally, she defended her brother Betzalel, who is under house arrest, and claimed that the public interest stems from his family background and that any donation he received was transferred to the war effort. Haimov claimed her party has 150,000 guaranteed votes that will get it past the electoral threshold.
