Shashi Gaz estimates: the condition under which Netanyahu will be granted a pardon - "only after this"
Attorney Shashi Gaz estimates that Netanyahu will not receive a pardon without taking responsibility. According to him, a pardon in the current format would be interpreted as confirmation of the persecution claims. Gaz criticizes the prosecution in Case 4000 and proposes a framework: withdrawal from bribery charges in exchange for taking responsibility in Case 1000.
Attorney Shashi Gaz estimates that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not receive a pardon without taking responsibility on his part. In an interview with Maariv, Gaz states that a pardon intended to allow the accused to continue claiming he was persecuted while receiving exemption from criminal proceedings is not the purpose of a pardon. According to him, following the election results and the testimony of former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit, calls for a pardon will increase, but the president will not agree to them in the current format. At the same time, Gaz sharply criticizes the prosecution in Case 4000, arguing that the judges' comments require it to reconsider its position. He proposes a framework to end the trial: the prosecution will withdraw from the bribery charges in Cases 4000 and 2000, and Netanyahu will take responsibility in Case 1000. Gaz emphasizes that any pardon arrangement requires Netanyahu to stop blaming everyone and take some responsibility for his actions.
