According to United Hatzalah spokesperson, the boy was riding a bicycle and was involved in an accident with a car. Medical teams called to the scene provided him with initial medical treatment, after which he was evacuated to Laniado Hospital for further treatment, with his condition defined as moderate. United Hatzalah medics reported that according to bystanders, the boy was hit by a car. A bystander at the scene said he noticed the boy as he was being evacuated in an ambulance and estimated that he was injured in the legs, but emphasized that this was only his personal impression.
