Matan Kahana, a senior official in Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar party, harshly attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an interview with 103FM. Kahana said he does not believe Netanyahu, and that Netanyahu has proven over the past three years that he takes political considerations during wartime. His remarks came in response to Netanyahu's warning that Israel's enemies might try to attack ahead of the elections. Kahana demanded that Netanyahu explain what he was referring to, adding that Netanyahu is known as a liar. Additionally, Kahana criticized Shin Bet chief David Zini's decision not to provide security for Eisenkot, calling it "puzzling." He expressed hope that there is no political consideration behind the decision, but noted that the atmosphere on the street is becoming more dangerous for political candidates. Kahana concluded that the burden of proof is on Zini, and that he would have done well to make a different decision. When asked whether Zini would remain in his position if Eisenkot becomes prime minister, he replied that as long as Zini fulfills his duties to the State of Israel, he would continue in his role.
