Rishon LeZion Deputy Mayor Avi Hayun revealed that he is the suspect being investigated on suspicion of committing sex offenses against a municipal employee. Hayun waived the gag order on his name in the case, ahead of a hearing that was supposed to take place tomorrow at the city's Magistrate's Court. According to the suspicion, the offenses were committed several years ago in Hayun's office. The complainant is not his employee, but a secretary of another senior official in the municipality. The case was exposed in August, and Hayun was banned from the municipal building for 30 days. His attorney, Adv. Ofer Almog, stated that Hayun believes in his innocence and that it is a false complaint. The investigation file is with the prosecution, which will have to decide on the issue of a word-against-word situation. Hayun claims the acts were consensual, while the complainant claims she could not resist the deputy mayor.
