The Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality issued approximately 2.54 million fines for illegal parking and driving in public transport lanes from the beginning of 2024 to mid-2026. The total revenue amounted to about 573 million shekels. The largest profit for the municipality came from violations of public transport lane regulations: fines for driving in designated lanes accounted for only a quarter of all tickets but generated 44% of all monetary collections — about 251 million shekels. More than a third of appeals filed by drivers were upheld by city commissions. Fines for parking in permitted zones without payment were most often canceled. For bus lanes, approximately every second complaint was upheld, while for parking on pedestrian crossings and in the second row, less than a fifth were upheld. A comparison of indicators for 2024 and 2025 revealed a decrease in the total number of fines for illegal parking by almost 6%, an increase in fines for double parking by nearly one and a half times, a rise in fines for parking in disabled spots by almost a third, and an increase in violations by bicycle and electric scooter owners by about 20%. Chronic non-payers were also noted: from the beginning of 2020 to mid-2026, about 7,000 individuals accumulated more than 50 fines each.
