An IDF reserve officer, Yinon Mordechai Valensi, owner of a construction company, was arrested on suspicion of sending people to threaten a competing contractor to prevent him from getting work. The case reached the Be'er Sheva Magistrate's Court, where a first hearing was held on extending his detention. Valensi is being investigated by the Lahav 433 Southern Unit on suspicion of extortion by threats. Police point to contradictions in the versions given during the investigation and have additional evidence. Valensi denies the allegations but confirmed that he spoke with those involved. He claims the background is a financial dispute between him and clients who did not pay him. Judge Eran Tzabari extended his detention until Thursday, November 5.
