Next week, Rami Levy, owner of the 'Shivuk HaShikma' supermarket chain, will appear at the Lod District Court to testify in the trial of Avi Ravid, owner of the competing chain Victory, in the price-fixing case. Levy, who was himself investigated in the case and had his file closed, was summoned as a witness for the Competition Authority. The Authority has not yet spoken with Levy ahead of his testimony. The indictment against Ravid, filed a year and a half ago, is considered groundbreaking and is based on his public statements and recordings in which he allegedly signaled competitors to raise prices. In the recordings, Ravid referred to Levy as 'the terrorist from Modiin.' Levy's testimony is expected to last one day, and he will be questioned about Ravid's public statements in 2021. All defendants deny the allegations against them.
