Popular calls have escalated in the town of Deir Abu Mash'al, northwest of Ramallah, to head to agricultural lands and support farmers in protecting the olive harvest season, amid ongoing settler attacks and attempts to restrict Palestinians' access to their fields. Residents of the town issued mobilization appeals under the slogan: "The land calls you, rush to protect it.. march to protect every olive branch we inherited from our ancestors," calling for urgent action to support farmers and confront the attacks targeting lands and olive trees. The appeals emphasized the need not to leave farmers alone in facing settler attacks, and urged citizens to head to the targeted lands and contribute to opening closed roads, enabling farmers to reach their fields and complete the harvest season. Residents of Deir Abu Mash'al stressed their attachment to their land and the continuation of popular mobilization to protect olive trees, which represent a primary source of livelihood for many Palestinian families and a symbol of Palestinians' connection to their land and rootedness in it. These calls come amid escalating attacks targeting farmers and agricultural lands in various areas of the occupied West Bank, coinciding with the olive harvest season, prompting residents to call for forming popular guard committees and strengthening presence in threatened fields to protect farmers and their property from settler attacks.
