Prof. Oren Yiftachel argues in an opinion piece that the upcoming elections present a choice between an apartheid regime and democracy. He accuses the government of actions aimed at Jewish supremacy and the exclusion of Palestinians, and calls for strengthening Jewish-Arab partnership.

Prof. Oren Yiftachel argues in an opinion piece that the upcoming elections in Israel present a historic choice between an apartheid regime and democracy. According to him, the current government has openly declared its intention to establish a 'Jewish supremacy regime' throughout the land, and has acted through a judicial overhaul, expansion of settlements, demolitions and land theft, Jewish terrorism, and the attack on Gaza. Yiftachel accuses the Hamas massacre of October 7 of providing legitimacy for accelerating the oppression. He claims that the term 'right-wing' has become a euphemism for a bloc of racist parties, and that millions of Palestinians are disenfranchised. Yiftachel calls for strengthening the Jewish-Arab partnership within the 'change bloc' and warns that another term for the current government will lead to international sanctions, violence, and economic crises.
