Prof. Cohen-Eliya: "The right is heading toward disaster"
Prof. Moshe Cohen-Eliya warned that a high voter turnout in the Arab sector could decide the elections. He called on right-wing voters not to support the parties of Vinter and Zalika-Handel, which he said are unlikely to pass the electoral threshold, and claimed that war with Iran could break out immediately after the US elections.
Prof. Moshe Cohen-Eliya issued a stark warning to right-wing voters ahead of the 2026 elections. According to him, a high voter turnout in Arab society, along with wasted votes on lists that do not pass the electoral threshold, could lead to a loss for the right-wing bloc. Cohen-Eliya estimated that Arabs "are expected to flock to the polls" following the disqualification of A-Shahada and the call by Azmi Bishara to topple Netanyahu, whom he called "the corrupt traitor." He urged not to support the Amcha Yisrael party of Ofer Vinter or the Zalika-Handel list, which he said are unlikely to pass the threshold. Additionally, he claimed that war with Iran is expected to break out in November, immediately after the US elections, and therefore there is no need to seek new and inexperienced leadership.
