Mia Shem, who was kidnapped from the Nova party on October 7 and held for 55 days in Gaza, gives an interview to the Daily Mail and recounts her experiences. She is the first person whose psychological terror video was released by Hamas, on October 16. In the interview, she speaks out against the global wave of antisemitism: 'People don't understand anything. They follow what others say, like sheep.' She expresses disappointment with musician Drake, whose songs she loved, after he released a song with the lyrics 'We pray for Gaza'. Shem describes particularly cruel treatment by her captors and their family. The wife of the terrorist who held her was jealous and fed her once every two or three days. His children taunted her with food. 'They treated me like an animal in a cage,' she says. She suffers from physical and mental scars: her arm was almost completely severed by gunfire at point-blank range, and she carried it with her. She lost about five liters of blood. Despite the horrors, she expresses hope for the future: she wants to get married, build a home in Israel, and have children.
