Under the plan, settlers from the occupied West Bank will be replaced by local guards from the "Hashomer Hahadash" organization, while the chairman of the fund's board, Eyal Ostrinsky, stated that the new site will be farther from the town's homes to reduce friction and tension. The establishment of the new outpost comes amid escalating settlement activity under Benjamin Netanyahu's government, which has seen an expansion in the construction of outposts. The previous outpost sparked local objections after settlers pitched tents in the area and some encroached on land owned by Palestinians from the town.
