Energy giant Paz is withdrawing from the race to acquire Volt Market, after negotiations between the parties reached a dead end. Paz submitted an offer of about NIS 400 million, but withdrew. Now three groups remain in the race: Good Pharm of Adam Friedler and Ohad Sandler, the Apax fund of Zvika Cohen alongside Ori Max, one of the owners of Max Stock, and Thor Rosenberg and Gabi Treblasi alongside a private fund. According to information that reached Globes, the group of Thor Rosenberg and Gabi Treblasi is currently leading in the talks. Volt Market operates about 29 branches across the country, with annual revenues of more than NIS 650 million and losses of about NIS 50 million per year. The decision to sell came about a year ago by the Competition Commissioner, Adv. Michal Cohen, after she did not approve an exemption from a restrictive arrangement. The original deadline for approving the deal expired, and a new date has not yet been set.
