The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security announced that the price of regulated eggs will rise by approximately 2.1% starting November 1, 2026. This is an automatic update under a mechanism that took effect in 2023, based on a fixed formula reflecting changes in production and marketing costs. The maximum price for a 12-egg carton in size M will increase from NIS 13.13 to NIS 13.40, in size L from NIS 14.24 to NIS 14.54, and in size XL from NIS 15.48 to NIS 15.81. The update comes a year after the previous price increase in November 2025. According to the ministry, the increase is due to changes in the costs of feed for laying hens, wages, energy, and packaging. The automatic mechanism stipulates that an update may be made when the cumulative change exceeds 3% and at least six months have passed, or when a year has passed and the cumulative change exceeds 1%. In the current case, the calculation indicates an increase of approximately 2.1%.
