Passenger recalls what he saw on "Air Crash Investigation" when entering the cockpit; show producer: invites him to visit the filming location

The producer of the series "Air Crash Investigation" was interviewed by Kan News following the story of Israeli passenger Yaniv Hayon, who recalled an episode from the series when entering the cockpit on a Flydubai flight and helped regain control. The producer invited him to visit the filming location.

The producer of the Canadian series "Air Crash Investigation", Alex Bystram, was interviewed this morning (Friday) on the program "This Morning" on Kan News, following the story of Israeli passenger Yaniv Hayon. Hayon said he used knowledge gained from the documentary series about aviation disasters when entering the cockpit on a Flydubai flight and helped restore control to the injured pilot. Bystram said he could not believe a viewer used what he saw in the series to save a plane, and invited Hayon to visit the filming location and meet the production crew. Hayon is one of four Israeli passengers who helped neutralize the co-pilot on a flight from Dubai to Israel, and he is set to receive a medal of valor from the President of Israel. According to Bystram, the plane was about 90 seconds from hitting the ground. The producer noted that throughout history, between 800 and 900 people have been killed in incidents involving deliberate pilot action, and called for a re-examination of pilot screening procedures. According to him, the investigation may take months or even a year, and the incident may become an episode in the series.
