Passed seven exams without writing a word - using only his eyes

Patrick McCabe, a 16-year-old boy with cerebral palsy, passed seven final exams in England without writing a single word, using an eye-tracking system. The exams ran from February to June, with each question requiring up to six hours. He now plans to study for A-levels and then media at a remote university.

Patrick McCabe, a 16-year-old boy with cerebral palsy, passed seven final exams in England without writing a single word. He used an eye-tracking system to answer the questions. The exams stretched over months, from February to June, with each 30-point question requiring up to six hours of work. Patrick studied at Fallibroome Academy in Macclesfield, a regular school, alongside his peers. He was born in Switzerland and his family returned to England when he was six. According to him, the main difficulty was showing others his knowledge, not necessarily understanding the material. He received assistance from the CandLE organization, which specializes in making education accessible to students using alternative communication methods. Patrick achieved the grades he needed and has begun studying for A-levels in French, business studies, and media. He aspires to study media at university, looking toward a university far from home, such as Bournemouth, 320 kilometers away. When asked if the move daunts him, he replied that he is excited for the experience.
