Palestinians inside the occupied interior are preparing to mark the 26th anniversary of the Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem Uprising on Saturday, October 3, 2026, with a program of popular and educational events. The Higher Follow-Up Committee for Arab Citizens announced that the visitation program will begin on Saturday morning from the town of Jatt in the Triangle, passing through Umm al-Fahm, Muawiya, Nazareth, Kafr Kanna, Kafr Manda, and Sakhnin, arriving at Arraba, where the central march will start at 4:00 PM from in front of the old mosque and conclude near the martyrs' memorial. The events include visiting the graves of martyrs and their families' homes and laying wreaths, with participation from representatives of local authorities and popular committees. The Committee for Arab Education Affairs called on schools to commemorate the anniversary through educational activities to introduce new generations to the events of October 2000. The committee notes that the October 2000 events saw the martyrdom of 13 Palestinians from the interior by Israeli security forces' gunfire and the wounding of hundreds. The uprising erupted on October 1, 2000, following Ariel Sharon's visit to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on September 28, 2000.
