The United States Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, paid a festive visit to the residence of Rishon LeZion and Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Yosef, in honor of the Sukkot holiday. Also participating in the meeting was the President of the Chief Rabbinate Council and Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Kalman Meir Bar. At the outset of the meeting, the Chief Rabbis expressed gratitude and appreciation to US President Donald Trump for his standing with Israel and the Jewish people, describing him as a "true friend and a righteous among the nations." They also thanked Ambassador Huckabee for his work in strengthening political ties. Central to the discussions was the joint fight against antisemitism. The rabbis emphasized to the ambassador the importance of continued decisive action by the US administration to eradicate the phenomenon and strengthen the security of Jewish communities worldwide. Additionally, the possibility of promoting meetings between religious leaders to reduce hostility was raised. Ambassador Huckabee said at the conclusion of the meeting that it was a great honor to meet with the rabbis during the holiday, and stressed the United States' commitment to preserving Jewish heritage.
