Our survival does not depend on elections overseas - but we must prepare for the worst | Yigal Dilmoni
Yigal Dilmoni asserts that the US midterm election results are a wake-up call for Israel. He calls for reducing dependence on the US, strengthening security independence, and investing in the battle for American public opinion, while presenting Judeo-Christian values.
Yigal Dilmoni, head of the AFJS organization, writes in an op-ed for Maariv: The results of the US midterm elections are a wake-up call for Israel. According to him, Israel has become part of the socio-economic struggle in America, and fuel prices, the cost of living, and the war in Iran create a narrative that the American citizen is paying the price of the alliance with Israel. He states that the alliance with the US must not be abandoned, but Israel must prepare for the possibility that a future administration may impose sanctions or restrict arms supplies. The solution he proposes: strengthening security independence, expanding ammunition industries, and reducing dependence on other countries. Additionally, he calls for investment in the battle for public opinion, presenting values that connect Christians and Jews, such as the Bible and tradition, family, and the return of the Jewish people to its land.
