OpenAI has announced a significant visual overhaul for ChatGPT: an Intelligent UI interface that integrates interactive components like buttons, calculators, forms, and games directly into chatbot responses. The system is powered by GPT-6 models (Sol for paid subscribers, Luna for the free tier), capable of thinking and responding simultaneously, reducing wait times by 44% for queries requiring web searches. New capabilities include interactive meal planning schedules, engineering diagrams to explain mechanics, retirement calculators, bill-splitting tools, and even retro games like Pong and Mahjong. Product manager Aroosh Salwan explained that the goal is to make complex topics accessible through scientific diagrams and visual simulations. Alongside the visual improvement, the models show enhanced resistance to jailbreak attempts. Users who prefer traditional text responses can configure this in advance.
