Occupation authorities extend ban on Sheikh Ikrima Sabri from entering Al-Aqsa by 6 months
The Israeli occupation authorities extended the ban on the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, from entering the mosque for an additional 6 months until next April 19, continuing a series of repeated ban decisions against him since August 2024, amid accusations of incitement.
The Israeli occupation authorities extended, on Tuesday, the ban on the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque and head of the Supreme Islamic Council in Jerusalem, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, from entering the mosque for an additional 6 months, until April 19, 2027. This decision continues a series of repeated ban decisions against him since August 2024. The Israeli authorities handed Sheikh Sabri's lawyer a decision to that effect, according to a document seen by Anadolu Agency. An official in the Sheikh's office confirmed that the ban had been extended several times, with the last one expiring in October. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli authorities on the new extension. Sheikh Sabri is also on trial on charges of "incitement." The Israeli authorities issue similar decisions banning dozens of Palestinians from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque for periods of up to 6 months.
