Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar signed a new aviation agreement with Albania in Tirana on Monday evening, aimed at expanding flight offerings between the two countries. The agreement comes amid a dramatic surge in the number of Israeli tourists in the Balkan country, from about 7,000 to 100,000 per year. Alongside the aviation agreement, an expanded intergovernmental cooperation agreement was also signed, which will allow the Albanian government to contract directly with Israeli companies and open business opportunities for them. The two agreements reflect the expansion of cooperation between the countries in the fields of aviation, tourism, and economy. The agreement was born out of a prolonged dialogue between the Israeli Ministry of Transportation and the Albanian government.
