Not just eggs are getting more expensive: flour prices are also on the rise

Flour mills in Israel have notified food manufacturers and bakeries of an 11%–14% price increase starting in November, following disruptions in wheat supply from the Black Sea amid the escalation of the war between Russia and Ukraine. At this stage, the increase applies to industrial flour, but it could also affect bread and other products.

Flour mills in Israel have notified food manufacturers and bakeries of an 11%–14% increase in flour prices starting in November 2026. The increase is due to disruptions in wheat supply from the Black Sea amid the escalation of the war between Russia and Ukraine. The Flour Mills Group of the Bay announced a 14% price increase, covering white flour, bread flour, self-rising flour, cake flour, and semolina. Bar-Rav Mill announced an 11% increase. The companies stated that four ships scheduled to arrive in Israel canceled contracts, forcing them to purchase wheat from Western Europe at a price 35%–40% higher. At this stage, the increase applies to industrial flour, but there is concern that it will be passed on to the prices of bread, pastries, and other consumer products. Manufacturers of supervised bread are expected to approach the Ministry of Economy to request approval for a price increase.
