The Israeli software company NICE is laying off about 500 employees worldwide, approximately 5% of its workforce. The move comes amid challenges posed by the artificial intelligence revolution to traditional software companies. The company, led by CEO Scott Russell, employs thousands of people globally, including hundreds in Israel, and is headquartered in Ra'anana. According to its latest annual report, at the end of 2025 NICE employed 9,626 workers, compared to 8,726 at the end of 2024. The layoffs represent about 5.2% of the workforce reported at the end of last year. The cuts occur during a period when NICE is facing market changes, particularly the entry of AI agents that independently perform customer service tasks. The company's stock has come under pressure over the past year amid investor concerns about the impact of artificial intelligence on demand for its products. The company stated that these are changes in the organizational structure and resource allocation, and that the step is intended to position NICE for the future.
