The IDF is preparing at peak readiness for the 'Chayei Sarah' Shabbat in Hebron, which tens of thousands of Israelis are expected to attend. Forces will be reinforced on major traffic routes, particularly Route 35 from Kiryat Gat to Hebron, as well as at the Cave of the Patriarchs complex and in the neighborhoods of Kiryat Arba. The IDF and Shin Bet will operate in the city area to thwart attempted attacks. The 'Ohel Yitzchak' compound, open to Muslim worshippers, will not be closed, unlike during the Sukkot holiday. Division 98 will lead the security operation, and the Judea Brigade will be responsible for the preparations. Several battalions and units will be transferred to Hebron in the coming days.
