The Gaza Petroleum Authority announced on Thursday the implementation of a new system for distributing cooking gas based on the number of family members, starting from the upcoming twelfth distribution cycle. The system aims to adjust the weight of the gas cylinder allocated to each family according to its size. Under the new mechanism, allocations and prices vary: a single individual receives 6 kg at a price of 56 shekels, families of 2 to 4 members receive 8 kg at 74 shekels, families of 5 to 7 members receive 10 kg at 93 shekels, and families of 8 or more members receive 12 kg at 110 shekels. The authority stressed the need to adhere to the specified pricing for each category, calling for cooperation in implementing the new system. This adjustment is part of a new mechanism adopted by the authority for distributing cooking gas quotas, with different prices based on the weight of the share and the benefiting population category.
