Netanyahu should be worried: The data every voter must know | Ben Caspit

Ben Caspit argues that Netanyahu should be worried: Likud has lost a third of its strength and is dropping to a low of about 20 seats in polls. The change bloc, he says, has managed to 'sort out' its parties, while Eisenkot leads Netanyahu in the suitability index for prime minister. Caspit warns that everything depends on voter turnout.

In his column, Ben Caspit argues that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be worried ahead of the elections. He notes that Likud, which won 32 seats in the previous elections, is now polling around 20 seats, a loss of a third of its power. Caspit attributes the decline to fatigue among Netanyahu's voters, who he claims have exhausted the deception capacity of the poison machine. He argues that the change bloc, led by Gadi Eisenkot, has managed to 'sort out' its parties so that none is in danger of falling below the electoral threshold, unlike the right-wing bloc. Caspit notes that Eisenkot leads Netanyahu by a stable gap of about 8.5% in the suitability index for prime minister, and that Netanyahu, who was once in a 'different league' in this index, has dropped leagues. He warns that despite the data, anything can happen, and everything depends on voter turnout and the motivation of bloc supporters. Caspit describes Netanyahu's environment as a 'crime family' and compares its conduct to the Italian mafia, while mentioning Netanyahu's arrival at court to stare at the state's witness.
