Netanyahu's videos and the unpaid money: the new decision

The chairman of the Central Elections Committee ruled that Netanyahu repeatedly published videos containing IDF footage and removed them before a ruling. From now on, advance payment approval will be required for use of materials, and the Likud party was ordered to pay 7,500 shekels in expenses.

The chairman of the Central Elections Committee, Judge Noam Sohlberg, ruled that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeatedly published campaign videos containing IDF footage, and removed them before a ruling on petitions filed against them. Consequently, the committee decided that from now on, advance payment approval will be required for the use of materials filmed by the IDF Spokesperson's Unit or the Government Press Office, which are considered public assets. Additionally, similar videos will not be approved for broadcast in election ads without proof of payment. Likud was ordered to pay 7,500 shekels in expenses – 1,500 shekels to the petitioner and 6,000 shekels to the state treasury. The decision was made after the Attorney General determined that no documentation of payment for the use of the materials was found.
