The political-security cabinet will convene this Sunday for a special meeting following a surge in security alerts, against the backdrop of the 'Flydubai' flight incident and concerns over additional attack attempts. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed in an interview with CNN that extensive intelligence has been received indicating that Iran's proxies, particularly Hezbollah and Hamas, are planning attacks against Israelis both in Israel and abroad. The security establishment fears spectacular attacks in the coming period, amid a possible escalation before the elections. Meanwhile, the investigation into the attempted flight attack continues. The suspect pilot, who allegedly attempted to carry out a 9/11-style attack, is currently being questioned in Saudi Arabia, where the plane made an emergency landing. Netanyahu stated that he spoke with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed, who agreed that Israel would join the investigation. The investigation focuses on whether this was an independent initiative by the pilot or an operation planned by a state actor, with the main suspicion being Iranian involvement.
