Nearly two million shekels: The consolation prize for Winter, Handel, and Zalicha
Two new lists that did not pass the electoral threshold, led by Yoaz Handel and Yaron Zalicha and Ofer Winter, are expected to receive approximately 1.835 million shekels each after crossing the 1% vote threshold, but remain with significant debts from guarantees and loans raised for the campaign.
Two new lists that did not pass the electoral threshold in the 2026 elections, the Reservists and Economic List led by Yoaz Handel and Prof. Yaron Zalicha and the Amcha Israel list led by Ofer Winter, are expected to receive a funding unit of approximately 1.835 million shekels each, after crossing the 1% vote threshold. However, the amount of guarantees and loans they raised leaves them with significant financial exposure. Handel and Zalicha raised guarantees totaling 7.1 million shekels and donations of about 650,000 shekels, while Winter raised guarantees of 11.4 million shekels, loans of 8.5 million shekels, and only 42,000 shekels in donations. Dr. Asaf Shapira from the Israel Democracy Institute explains that a party receiving at least 1% of the votes is entitled to a funding unit, but a large portion of the guarantees may be forfeited.
