Attorney Haddad attacked: Mandelblit blocked the investigation of Adelson under caution

In a hearing in Case 2000, the defense attorney for Arnon Mozes claimed that Mandelblit blocked the investigation of Sheldon Adelson under caution and disqualified investigation directions regarding Netanyahu's ties with 'Israel Hayom'. The prosecution rejected the claim.

In a hearing held this morning (Wednesday) at the Jerusalem District Court, attorney Navit Negev Sharon, representing Arnon Mozes, claimed that former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit blocked an investigation under caution of businessman Sheldon Adelson and disqualified investigation directions concerning Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's ties with the newspaper 'Israel Hayom'. According to her, the testimony of senior police investigator Koresh Bernur described Mandelblit's active involvement in shaping the investigation directions. In response, prosecutor Yehudit Tirosh rejected the claim, emphasizing that cautious involvement does not turn the attorney into the head of the investigation team. Attorney Amit Haddad, the prime minister's defense counsel, attacked and said that the defense has the right to investigate the party responsible for investigative decisions. The decision on whether to expand Mandelblit's investigation remains pending.
