She realized he was a scammer, gathered evidence, and filed a complaint that led to the arrest of a 34-year-old resident of Kiryat Ata, married with children, on suspicion of impersonation, fraud, and sex offenses.

A woman from northern Israel, a resident of a moshav, met a man on Tinder who presented himself as a Shin Bet agent operating in Jenin and said his family was murdered in the October 7 massacre. According to her, she quickly realized he was a sophisticated scammer and decided to continue the relationship while gathering evidence. The man, a 34-year-old resident of Kiryat Ata, married with children, claimed he lost his home and suffered financial losses. After he demanded a large sum of money, the woman filed a police complaint. According to the police, she transferred thousands of shekels to him during the relationship. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of impersonation, fraud, and sex offenses. His detention was extended until September 27. The woman said: "I hope he doesn't do this to any other woman."
