Municipality Rankings: The Gaps Revealed - Who Tops the List and Who Is Sinking?

A new CBS survey reveals deep gaps in satisfaction with municipal services between cities and sectors. Petah Tikva and Jerusalem show significant improvement over the past decade, while Bnei Brak and Netanya recorded erosion. The sectoral gap is prominent: 69% of Jews are satisfied compared to 53% among Arabs. 40% of inquiries to municipalities are made online, with a jump to 65% in Tel Aviv.

A new social survey by the Central Bureau of Statistics, published today (Wednesday), examines public attitudes toward municipal services in 2025 and reveals a complex picture of deep gaps. 66% of residents positively assess municipal performance, but the data indicate opposite trends among different cities. Petah Tikva shows the most significant jump, with a rise from 61% to 85% in positive assessment since 2015. Rishon LeZion climbed to 81%, and Jerusalem shows consistent improvement from 39% to 68%. Conversely, Bnei Brak recorded erosion from 61% to 56%, and Netanya slightly dropped to 71%. The sectoral gap is prominent: 69% of Jews are satisfied compared to only 53% among Arabs. On the question of equality, 40% of Arabs claim the authority is not equitable compared to 15% of Jews. 2.1 million Israelis approached for service in the past year, 74% left satisfied. 40% of inquiries are made online, with the figure jumping to 65% in Tel Aviv.
