A political and family storm in Ohio: Donna Arthur, the mother of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton, released a video calling on the public not to vote for her daughter, claiming she is a liar and has lied about her past. The mother alleged that Acton is lying about her childhood stories, including the claim that she grew up in a tent. In response, Acton's campaign team, through her brother Philip Sterns, accused Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy of cynically exploiting the sexual abuse Acton suffered as a child from her mother's husband. Sterns claimed that the mother remained married to the abuser until his death.
