The educational publishing house "Tarshid Publications", affiliated with the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, has announced the release of the Arabic translation of the book "Building Cultures of Thinking: The Eight Forces for Deep Transformation in Our Schools" by researcher and educator Ron Ritchhart, translated by Hala Al-Sharouf, in an edition spanning approximately 400 pages of medium size. The book starts from a question that goes beyond what the teacher teaches inside the classroom to the culture in which learning itself occurs: how can schools and classrooms become environments where thinking is valued, made visible, and where learners actively participate in building knowledge? Ritchhart presents culture as a foundational element in the educational experience, arguing that the curriculum does not transform into living and effective learning merely by changing its content, but through the dynamics and culture within which its application is shaped. The book presents the framework of the "Eight Cultural Forces" that shape classroom and school culture: expectations, language, time, modeling, opportunities, routines, interactions, and environment. The book is based on Ritchhart's extensive work with schools and teachers in Australia, Europe, and the United States as part of the "Cultures of Thinking Around the World" project.
