Morocco is considering integrating Israel Aerospace Industries' (IAI) LORA long-range artillery missiles into the US-made HIMARS artillery systems it is set to receive in fiscal 2027, according to a report by South American defense news site ZM. The report states that IAI intends to showcase the LORA system at the Marrakesh Air Show next month, which could lead to the integration of LORA and HIMARS capabilities into the Moroccan military. LORA missiles are designed for ranges of 400-500 kilometers with an accuracy of less than ten meters, providing capabilities beyond the 300-kilometer range of HIMARS launchers. The missiles have been used by Azerbaijan against Armenia during the 2020 Second Nagorno-Karabakh War. ZM notes that IAI has defined its participation focus as fostering local cooperation, industrial collaboration, knowledge exchange, and technology transfer. Morocco already operates Israeli systems, including Elbit's PULS system, which Morocco demonstrated in operational use in March 2025.
