Famous rapper Israel Judah Morgenshtern (formerly Alisher Morgenshtern) made a resonant gesture during a concert in Valencia, Spain, as part of his world tour, the Mercury Tour. Right on stage, a fan handed him the state flag of Israel, which he unfurled and draped over his shoulders before a crowd of thousands. The artist delivered an emotional speech, openly expressing support for the Israeli state against the backdrop of what he described as difficult sentiments prevailing in Spain. Addressing the audience, he emphasized that he was not talking about politics but noted that he was in a country where Israel is hated, and called for finding light even in the darkest place. The article also describes the artist's journey from popularity in Russia to spiritual transformation: he left Russia after being added to the register of foreign agents, experienced a crisis, and in June 2026 underwent conversion to Judaism, adopting a new name. His next major concert is scheduled in Tel Aviv on October 27, 2026.
