Just before the end of his term in the Knesset after more than two decades, MK Yaakov Margi, a veteran of Shas, attacks the party in an exclusive interview with the main edition. He laments the capitulation to extremist Haredi factions and states that those who do not study Torah must enlist. Margi spoke out against Haredim blocking roads in protest of the draft: 'Who did they protest against? Most of them were not Torah scholars. Will I desecrate God's name for them?' He wondered who the leaders sending them were, and called the scenes 'embarrassing and shameful.' The full interview will be broadcast tonight on Channel 15.
