The reason is a staff error that caused the infants to be switched and given to the wrong biological parents. The truth emerged 38 years later: Kyle Bailin received a genetic testing kit as a Christmas gift. The results led him to a biological aunt, after which Jeremy Morrison also took a DNA test. Comparing the data confirmed that both men were raised by people who were not their biological relatives. Morrison believed the results after seeing photos of Bailin and noticing a striking physical resemblance. Bailin admitted that he still keeps the old hospital bracelet with the incorrect information. Evelyn Newton, who raised Kyle, noted that she never doubted he was her biological son. The victims are demanding compensation from the medical facility for their ruined lives and years of negligence.
