Russia has agreed to supply Iran with 90 helicopter-mounted launchers for modern guided missiles. This was reported on November 5 by the Financial Times (FT), which examined internal documents from a Russian defense enterprise. The order details are contained in the 2024–2025 production plan attached to a letter from the Vympel enterprise, one of Russia's leading developers of missiles and launch systems. The documents were provided to the newspaper by the Ukrainian private intelligence and analytical organization Dallas Analytics. The production plan lists seven Russian customers and two foreign ones. One foreign buyer is China, which ordered 192 APU-305 launchers. The second, designated by the code "K-10," ordered 90 APU-L launchers. According to the FT, Rosoboronexport uses the code "K-10" to designate Iran. This was confirmed by a knowledgeable source and other internal Russian documents. However, the documents regarding the order of launchers do not allow determining whether the delivery has already taken place. According to the FT, the previously unknown order shows how much the military ties between Russia and Iran have strengthened since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
