Magen David Adom brings back 'Mitzvah on Wheels' traveling sukkah ambulance initiative

Magen David Adom has revived its 'Mitzvah on Wheels' initiative for the fifth year, featuring a sukkah mounted on an ambulance. The project, launched in 2020 by volunteer MDA driver Rabbi Yonatan Shpitzer during COVID-19 lockdowns, travels to MDA sites nationwide so teams can perform the blessing on the Four Species during Sukkot.

Magen David Adom (MDA) has brought back its 'Mitzvah on Wheels' initiative for the fifth consecutive year. The project consists of a sukkah mounted on the back of an ambulance, which travels to MDA sites across Israel during the Sukkot holiday. The initiative was launched in 2020 by Rabbi Yonatan Shpitzer, a volunteer MDA driver, during the COVID-19 lockdowns when people could not leave their homes. Its purpose is to bring the holiday spirit to MDA EMTs and paramedics in the field and enable them to fulfill the commandment of the Four Species (Arba Minim). Shpitzer expressed deep excitement about continuing the tradition and wished the People of Israel a year of joy, health, and success.
