Like in Nazi Germany: The Houthis' arsenal of "vengeance weapons" capable of reaching Israel

A report in 'The Independent Arabia' reveals the Houthis' missile and drone arsenal, based on Iranian technology. The weapons include the 'Qasef 1' drone, the 'Soumar' cruise missile, and 'Quds 1', with a range of up to 2,500 km, threatening Israel and East Africa. The analysis indicates that the technological capability for precision strikes originates from Iran.

A report in 'The Independent Arabia', published in Ma'ariv, analyzes the Houthis' arsenal of 'vengeance weapons' in Yemen. The term 'vengeance weapon' (Vergeltungswaffen) is derived from the long-range weapons developed by Nazi Germany during World War II, including the V1, V2, and V3 missiles, which claimed about 18,000 civilian lives. The analysis, by expert Michael Gallagher, focuses on three main weapons: the 'Qasef 1' drone, which according to Gallagher is almost identical to the Iranian 'Ababil 2' drone and is mostly manufactured in Iran, except for a Chinese engine; the 'Soumar' cruise missile, an Iranian version of the Soviet Kh-55 missile; and the 'Quds 1' cruise missile. While the 'Qasef 1' is limited to a range of about 250 km, the Iranian versions based on the Kh-55 are capable of a range of up to 2,500 km, allowing the Houthis to threaten Israel and large parts of East Africa. Gallagher concludes that the evidence indicates that the military capability for precision strikes originates from Iran, and that the development of the Houthi arsenal is turning a local conflict into a broad regional threat.
